Bass wood could be a better alternative to balsa wood because it is heavy, and is also stronger and does better with tests of force. Lateral bracing is also a great way to keep the bridge from twisting because of the properties of balsa wood it is flexible which is a pro and a con in it self. With shorter pieces used in the construction of the bridge can handle more applied force because it is a shorter piece and the weight can be more evenly distributed without sagging. The more triangles that can be used in the structure will be better because they are able to bear more weight. Triangles also hold their shape better than squares because they only have 3 supporting points that push on each other. The truss bridge structure also is great for a project like this because it is a short bridge and a simple design doing what its supposed to, hold force that is applied to the top. Balsa wood is also different in different climates. If the wood is wet it is going to be more flexible but the glue might not stick. If the wood is dry it is more sturdy but is also prone to cracking under force. Building different bridges and testing them will also help find the best design and strengths. This is used on bridges like the Manhattan bridge because it is a long segment of bridge and has a lot of everyday traffic and force that is applied. It is also flexible and helps with strong winds. End posts wont really help in this project because the force is being applied to the center of the bridge if the force was being applied evenly throughout the whole bridge then this would be a good way to add support. Directing Act 5 Scene 2 Essay I will be directing part of Act five scene two. This is the part where most of the main characters are all together and Petruchio shows all the other men that he has tamed Kate. All the men have a bet on whose wife is the most obedient.  I have chosen to set my piece in the present time because I want the modern day audience to sympathise with both Katherina and Petruchio. I am going to set this in a stately home because the men will be playing cards and the women will be talking in a nearby room. The servants will be also playing cards because Biondello and Gremio are also good friends of their masters. The house will belong to Lucentio. I have chose to use a stately home because it is the closest thing to the type of housing and the class the people in the original play were set in. I thought that although the stately home is the closest thing to the original, the modern day audience would still be able to relate to the characters and settings a lot easier. The men will be dressed in casual suits with a loosened tie, to create the effect of the upper class relaxing with a few friends. Kate will be wearing a long flowing dress to show that she is like an ordinary upper class lady instead of the more radical clothing she would have worn before the taming process. Biannca and the widow will also be wearing the same style of dress. The servants (Biondello and Gremio) would be wearing the traditional butler uniform.  I want them to realise that Petruchio has tamed Kate, but I want them to question whether or not Kate has lost her robust personality in the process. I want them to think that although Kate has been disciplined and is obeying Petruchios every word, that she still is her own person, but she now puts her view across in very different ways. I am going to direct my play in a way that will bring out the fact that Kate is still her own person, but a lot more sociable.  Baptista and all the other men think that Petruchio could not have tamed Kate because she was uncontrollable. Social Characteristics Man is a social being and paradigms through which the world is explored are influenced by psycho-social experiences. Therefore, in evaluating the characteristics of this philosopher psychologist inevitably pertinent elements of his social life must be unwrapped in determining how the concepts he discovered were influenced by his sociology. Freud was born in the Czech Republic where he spent the first three years of his life. In 1859 his father moved to Leipzig Germany then to Vienna in 1836.This is where he was socialized into a German culture interpreting politics and social phenomenon at a very early age. Within his household there were many questions too since very early he realized that his two half brothers were the same age of his mother and he was slightly younger than his nephew. For Freud this was unusual, but certainly not an accident because it did initiate a series of soliloquies in embracing the true nature of family relationships as it pertained to the development of his psychoanalytic philosophies later in life. From an education- occupational background Freud?s father was a Jewish wool entrepreneur who sold his merchandise to support his family. However, his son displayed an academic predisposition by beginning to read Shakespeare as early as eight years old. Subsequently, during his adolescence when he discovered Goethe?s philosophies he was able to appreciate them. With this social dispensation Freud became a medical doctor who was intrigued by the anatomy and physiology of the human central nervous system. Further discoveries regarding the human mind evolved and he moved from philosopher to psychologist since he personally had scientifically proven many of his prepositions and hypotheses to be true. Philosophies As a philosopher he integrated sociology with psychology to talk about conflict from a perspective of cultural evolution as it relates to biological evolution.
